As an only child, pets have always held a special place in my life; without siblings, they became my family. I grew up with two wonderful Labradors while living in Japan. Later, when my parents and I moved to the United States, our household expanded to include a cat and a Boston Terrier.

When I entered the workforce and moved into my own apartment in Chicago, maintaining that connection to animals became a priority. This passion led me to volunteer at two different shelters in the city, where I focused on walking dogs and guiding them through training programs to prepare them for successful adoption. My parents and I ended up adopting a dog from one of these shelters as well! Since I was handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments, I prioritised safety above all else by ensuring correct leashing and/or harnessing as well as paying attention to other animals and volunteers while walking to avoid potential conflicts between the dogs.

To complement my full-time career, I also established a rewarding pet-sitting practice. My experience here ranges widely: from routine weekday walks and drop-in visits for feeding and playtime, to providing dedicated overnight care in clients' homes for several weeks at a time. The length of walks typically depends on the dog's age, and I'm happy to work with what the client prefers. In case of emergency, I request clients provide the address and phone of their veterinarian before our first appointment. During services, I can be reached via phone or text if clients would like to get in touch.

As in the shelters, I prioritise safety first while walking dogs and keep them leashed. If a client would like their dog to have time for free runs, I take them to dedicated off-leash areas. Aside from walks, playtime and brushing are ways to help pets use up energy, so they're happy and tired when it's time to go to bed. Now that I am settling into life here in Denmark, I am keen to continue offering reliable, loving and experienced care to local pets and their owners.
